Welcome to the USS Constellation

Our overall mission is to go back to the basics of Starfleet... to explore, to go where no one has gone before, and to meet new life forms and new civilizations (new to us, at least). We'll be doing this in one of the newest areas for exploration, the Gamma Quadrant. Because of the post-war chaos, we may run into pirates or renegade Jem'Hadar as well.

We have a Starfleet Corps of Engineers (SCE) detachment along, though we're not assigned to the SCE. The SCE is onboard to help friendly planets we may find with their cleanup and rebuilding after the war. The Federation and Starfleet want to show a friendly and helpful side to planets that may know us only as the people that fought the Dominion.

The votes are in, and the decision is to switch to a forum hosted on Danawheels.org. The other forum has been locked down, so everyone please bookmark the new forum, sign up, and start using the new forum immediately.

The link at the top of the SMS site has been updated to point to the new forum.

We have a question about which of two forums the crew wants to use for the Constellation's forum.

Please visit http://ussconstellation.freeforums.org/new-forum-t15.html and vote on the question ASAP!

The poll will be open for the next 7 days.
The Switch

Okay, we've worked out how we're gonna handle The Switch. It has the benefit of simplicity, at least.

All existing joint posts will be completed on the SMS site (that's this site). We'll transfer them over as we have time, in their completed form.

All new posts, solo or joint, go on the forum. Each "topic" (the forum's term for a post thread) is what SMS would call a "post." So for a Joint Post, the first person starts the topic, the next person adds a reply to it, and so on.

If you don't want anything being added to a topic after you've decided to wrap it up, just let one of the admins know (me or the XO), and we'll lock the topic.

Any questions, ask!

If everyone who is online today (it's a holiday, so I understand if some folks don't want to sit in front of the PC) would sign up on the forum, it would make things a lot easier on your poor CO. Once you're signed up, you can start participating in the out-of-character areas (which includes the admin area). I plan on working out how we're going to accomplish The Switch to posting over there sometime today.

The forum site has been experiencing some slowness and occasional lack of connection issues today... they say that in the next few weeks they'll be upgrading things to solve that problem. In the mean time, if you get a message about servers being over capacity, just follow their advice and wait a few minutes.
